Did you know we have a vaginal microbiome just like we have a gut microbiome?

It's equally important that we take good care of it. It affects the type of discharge we experience, how things feel down there, and fertility.

Incorporating lots of fresh fruits & veggies help expose you to beneficial bacteria.

Consuming greek yogurt or yogurt with active cultures is supportive to a healthy environment.

Pre/Probiotics may not be needed for everyone, but can be beneficial especially if you're concerned that something might be off with your vaginal microbiome (smell, itch, changing discharge, etc.)

Consuming healthy fats via oily fish varieties like tuna, salmon, & mackerel help support a healthy vaginal microbiome.

& lastly, remaining adequately hydrated is important.

Regardless of what the reason might be, there are two steps I'd recommend you to take first before considering functional testing.

1. Work on consistently implementing healthy habits for nutrition, movement, sleep, & stress management. I cover these topics in detail in my membership the Wellness with Vanda Club.

2. Add more minerals into your diet on a regular basis. This will look like lots of fresh fruits & veggies + 1-2 mineral drinks daily. Did you know that this one simple test provides over 38 points of data and provides valuable information about the unique needs of your body! It shows us which minerals you’re depleted in, and provides us insight into how your metabolism, thyroid, blood sugar balance, and adrenals are functioning.

It's called a HTMA test - which stands for Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis and it uses a small sample of your hair that evaluates your mineral and heavy metal status. You clip a hair sample at home, pop it into your mailbox, and it goes off to the lab. Easy peasy. 🍋

Hearing mineral wins from my clients is one of my favorite parts of this job. It’s incredible how quickly someone starts noticing improvements once they start supporting their minerals.
(all talking emojis)-I have felt a lot more energy this week and actually a little better emotionally
-I have felt much better. I have cut down coffee and when I do have it, I try to do decaf.
-I've seen incredible changes in my mood, my energy, and my body.
-My libido is back & I feel so good. NO STOMACH ISSUES (!!!!!!!!!) no diarrhea, no acid issues, no burps, no pain. My skin is clear & glowy. My energy is fire emoji.

There are several aspects of motherhood that set us up for having depleted minerals:
